Whiteway Review from UIowa Student
I lived in this apartment while attending UIowa, and it was a great studio. The location is absolutely the highlight of the apartment as it took me as few as five minutes to walk to class some mornings. The apartment itself is nice but nothing fancy. The bathroom is spacious with a big closet, but the shower is small. The windows are big and let in a lot of light, and the floors are easy to clean. The kitchen is nice for someone who isn’t doing a lot of cooking, but for any recipe that requires... chopping or more than one pot, it feels small. There is shared laundry, and I very rarely have to wait to use the machines. Maintenance is hit or miss, sometimes I think they’re great, and other times they can be a pain. Also, for those not from Iowa City, the ped mall below can get very loud at night. It’s something I’ve gotten used to, but be prepared. Also, another positive is that you’re able to get a parking pass to the Capital Street ramp through the landlord, so you can keep your car right across the street. A negative is that the building’s entrance is technically open to the public, so just something to keep in mind.
