Mountain View Apartments

I resided at Mountain View Apartments In Ponderay Idaho for a period of 6 months while performing some seasonal work in the summer and autumn of 2023. The onsite staff did an exceptional job of managing the space during my stay, and I wanted to note some of the many pros and also a few cons of the location.

Pros:
- Very detailed photos of the unit had been taken which proved to be a huge help to me since I couldn't view the unit in person.
- The space appeared to be very well cleaned and… maintained in the photos provided, which was enough to convince me to sign for the unit without seeing it in person.
- Upon arriving at the unit, the space was very clean, and all appliances and fixtures were in working order (I never had any issues with these items over the course of my stay.)
- Towards the end of my visit, I requested that I be able to stay a few extra days while completing some additional work. The management was very accommodating in this request on short notice.
- During my stay, I put a lot of effort into maintaining the space, and this was reflected in the Security Deposit refund that they issued. The primary items on the charges came from a light cleaning of the unit and a carpet cleaning.
- Within walking distance of a gym and groceries.
- Decent bike access to Sandpoint.
- Rarely heard my neighbors (walls are not paper-thin.)

Cons:
- The unit is close to a train track that runs along the south edge of the complex. I had a unit in the northern middle section, so this wasn't a major bother to me. Definitely something to take into consideration.

- Parking is a bit limited. If you work a job where you would return to your unit around the hours of 6:00 pm to 5:00 am, it may be difficult to locate a spot close to your unit.

- Trash collection could arrive around 4:30am

All in all, I think Mountain View Apartments is a well managed and maintained complex, which definitely stands out to me after seeing some of the market in the Spokane area about an hour south. I never had any issues with management, and while they would send out some general memos via text about pet cleanup or the like, I didn't find these demands to be unreasonable.
