Living here should be a last resort
Main issues:
-pest issues (mice and ants)
-pool never open due to “maintenance”
-random/monthly mandatory apartment “maintenance” where they will come into your apartment looking around whether you are present or not. With 24 hour notice or no notice.
-nonchalant/ careless property manager (Alana).
- notifications are posted on your door and can blow away before you see it. They do not communicate electronically.
- if you are even one day late with rent there will be an eviction notice posted... on your door.
I lived in a unit here for 3 years with my infant daughter and everything was going well until they changed property managers. The new property manager Alana has a very non chalant attitude about any issues you bring to her attention. Simply responding with a dry “oh okay”. My move in was later than they promised because they were “Having it cleaned”. The unit was dirty upon move in ( urine odor, pet hair, and molded pet food in the carpets). I had to do a deep cleaning (wall washing and carpet shampooing) at my own expense. Months after moving here I noticed mice in the kitchen. I complained to them about the issue and they assured me they would have the pest control keep coming until the issue is gone. As soon as I signed another lease they stopped trying to resolve the issue. The pest control van is in the complex weekly as if this is an issue with multiple units. It was obvious that the tenants before me had cats that were likely keeping the issue concealed.
Danbury/ Alana asked me to renew my lease for a 3rd time and I asked to be transferred to another unit. Alana assured me that I can apply for the unit in the same complex. Alana collected my application fee and two weeks before my lease ends, denied me for my past “late payments” here at the very same apartment that was pestering me to renew my lease in a unit that they know is infested with several mice and other pests. Alana also told me that she has a new tenant moving into my mice- infested apartment shortly after my move out the same way they let me and my infant move into a mouse infested apartment 3 years ago.
The only time you will hear Alana sound alert is when she is collecting the application fee, having you sign a lease, or reminding you about the rent.
