Apartment flooded twice and management was no help

My apartment here flooded twice this year and the first time they gave me an address to another unit to stay in and walking in I found they placed me in a partially occupied unit with a complete stranger. After I refused to live there, I was placed in a hotel for two months with little to no communication from management and I was constantly told they would get back to me about my questions but never did. And I still had to pay for electricity and parking and most of the rent when I didn't even... live there??? The second time it flooded I received no offer for a hotel (honestly good because that was rough) but have been left with a huge hole in my wall, pulled out base boards, and missing blinds with no compensation. On top of this, communication from anyone has been nonexistent. I could go on and on but DO NOT LIVE HERE!!!!

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE - NO SECURITY DEPOSIT RETURNED!

Moved out after one year - they charged for 'smoke damage to walls requiring paint job". There was no smoking in the unit all year (that is what the balcony was for). No smoke damage to cloth furniture or beds? But to the walls? No evidence provided, no photos, video, nothing. Just a threat to damage my credit if we didn't pay. DO NOT RENT HERE!

Don’t even consider this place

Don’t move here. Don’t live here. Just don’t. Maintenance requests might as well not be made since they don’t do them even if you ask again and again. Insulation is so terrible that the windows froze over ON THE INSIDE and condensation causes mold. Basically no ventilation so the apartment is always stuffy. The laundry machine is horrible. Apartment feels like it was put together by Ikea manuals and things break all the time. Don’t move here. If I could give zero stars I would.

Don't Even Consider This Place

My daughter rented here for a year and it was a terrible experience. Water mains in this obviously poorly-maintained building broke early in the first semester, and she was shuttled from hotel to hotel, because Yugo didn't deign to secure students long-term contracts. It was severely disruptive for her studies, and yet there was no rent adjustment or apology.

If you look at the place currently, it remains a wreck. Students are likely to continue to face serious issues, including noise, water...
issues and perhaps mold associated with last year's incident. And don't rely on management to help you; the staff is inexperienced and contemptuous. I've dealt with people in this sector for forty years, and these were, hands down, the worst. In short, look elsewhere; there are many better options in Champaign.
