Nice Property, But Some Complaints

I've lived here for a few years and the property is good but there are some things I don't like as well. For the positive - the building is kept clean. I've never seen any bugs or rodents in the building. Hallways are vacuumed regularly, elevators and floors in common areas are mopped regularly. In the winter the sidewalk is always shoveled and salted. Maintenance is responsive. There's an inside garage attached although you do have to pay separately for it, it's very convenient to have parking... in this area. Packages are secure in the mailroom. I've never had any package theft problems, even the rare times I had packages sitting for several hours and once overnight. The gym area is nice although small, but okay for what it is. Sometimes the temperature is too warm in there though, making it uncomfortable to work out. For the not so good - the walls are super thin. As in you can hear phones ringing as well as conversations, cabinets closing, water running, microwaves beeping, and neighbors engaged in adult activities. I know noises in apartments are expected to some extent though and thankfully it's not 24/7. But still, I've had to sleep with earplugs every night and sometimes during the day if it gets loud. The concrete ceilings are ugly and seem to amplify noise rather than block it out. There is very little closet space in the units. The CTA is also less than a block away so sometimes you will hear train noise although that's minimal. Rent is also pricy for the amount of space you get but I suppose you're paying for the amenities as well. Tawani Property Management used to be better but I'm not a fan of the way their current management team operates. Despite the complaints, it's still a good place to live.

Great place to live!

I love this building, which I've now lived in for more than a year. Very well designed (great use of every inch of space) and very well built (pretty much sound resistant). Management is responsive, maintainance is excellent and staff are very friendly and responsive. Friendly neighbors with great low-key vibe. Terraces and public spaces are awesome. Inside garage a plus.
