Good starter apartment, but don't expect much

It's a tiny studio apartment. It's clean, it has hardwood floors, everything works– the only problem is the tiny, tiny kitchen. A place this size obviously isn't going to have much, but there is *no* counter space, which makes cooking a challenge. Also, the elevators here are bizarre– they have massive doors blocking them. I weigh 200 pounds and I have trouble opening them any time one of my arms isn't free, like if I have laundry or groceries.

The place gets pretty stuffy, not all the windows
have bug screens, and the halls smell like cigarettes and various other people smells, but other than that I can't complain. There is somewhat cheap laundry facilities in the basement, the neighborhood is pretty safe, and I'm right next to a train stop, which makes getting to work extremely easy. Leaves things to be desired, but it's not expensive and I was able to sign the lease and move in within three days.
