English Village Apartments

4 property managers in past year.
I have maintenance issues going on 2 years that haven't yet been addressed.
They bring in anyone just to get their money.
I don't feel safe here anymore and the so called management only has excuses and a very poor attitude, as if I'm being unreasonable.
Everything here is horrible and frustrating.
Do not sign a lease here for your own good.

I've been here for almost 4 years and have a unit on the ground floor. The amount of mice and ants I've had is insane. I've also had my bathroom flood multiple times with the bare minimum being done to fix the problem each time. I had a mold problem due to a flood issue over the summer and it took multiple maintenance requests to even have it acknowledged (he literally just painted over the mold). Took them about 6 months to fix a broken window.

Apparently they got new management recently... and will probably try to use this to their advantage, but the apartment above mine had a leak and it ruined my kitchen and there is still a hole and my light fixture is just hanging where maintenance came in to fix it, but never came back to take care of the damage they did in MY apartment to fix the leak. Same in the bathroom.. I had my 4th flood in 2 years and they cut a hole big enough for my dog to crawl through and never came back to fix that either.

many many reviews detailing degrading neighborhood, sketchy activities including shootings and ODs which im sure aren’t everyday. More importantly and what will be every day is BEDBUGS, something that should be invested to exterminate appears to not be a priority. looks like the cheaper rent warrants these activities. home seekers beware.

We had so many issues with English village. The first night someone shot up someone’s car. Within the first 3 months we saw 2 people overdose and be brought back to life in front of the building. And yes…BEDBUGS. They were everywhere. When we contacted Jodi about them they did nothing. Eventually causing us to break our lease. With that and the mold. It wasn’t safe.

I had issues right when I moved in. One of my stove tops weren’t working, a light in my kitchen went out and one of the doors on my closet fell off all within the first week. I also had other maintenance issues like a backed up toilet that they were speedy to come fix, but when it came to my smoke detector chirping on and off it took them a whole week to get that and another one in the building fixed that had been going off for at least a month. Another time they were fixing the washer or dryer... in my building and failed to tell residents. The pictures are very deceiving so make sure you tour before you move and sign a lease, I couldn’t because of COVID, my biggest regret was not getting to tour until the day before I moved. Everything is also outdated unless you got an upgraded apartment.
I also had issues with the building I was in because of neighbors. There was people always slamming any and all doors, kids or even adults randomly screaming and dogs barking. Walls are also kind of thin and you can hear someone’s TV or some people’s conversations. Parking is not the greatest since my building has three other buildings to share parking with and half of those spots are visitor.
Overall, don’t move here unless you’re in a pinch and on a budget. Read More
