MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE PLEASE
[ ] I was approved for a 2 bedroom apartment and was scheduled to move in on 7/15//25. I did everything that was asked of me, including get renter's insurance. The entire day (move in day), no one called me in regards to my move in. Around 3pm on the 15th, I called Harbor Place Apartments to see what was going on, I was told my agent had to check the apartment and then call me back. She called me 15 minutes later to tell me the apartment was ready. When I get there, she tells me that I can't... move in at all now. As a matter of fact, I'll have to wait longer because "something needed to be fixed". She asked "If we can't move you in by the end of July, can I move in on the 1st of August"? And yes, they'll be needing more money before I move in. I told her no, I can't move in on Aug. 1st or afford to give them more money. She said they had another apartment they could move me into. All it needed was appliances. That was 6 days ago and still no word, unless I call them. So I left The next day, the leasing agent told me that the issue wasn't fixed and keep asking me if I could move in on August 1st. I told her that was not going to work for me. They rushed me into signing a lease for an apartment for July 15th that wasn't ready, can't get me into the apartment they promised, told me they would move me into another apartment that needed appliances but didn't and now they're already asking me for more money BEFORE they can get into the buildingat all. I'm not a resident yet, haven't move anything into anywhere and this what i have to deal with. I can see now that this is a problem. Ive been trying to hold on and give the the benefit of doubt but they're constantly proving its not going to work.
It's now 7/22, i called to get an update and the first thing they say is the apartment isn't ready and can I move in in August. At this point the lack of professionalism and organization is telling me I'm not going to be happy here. I was right. Not only are they keeping my 100.00 deposit but they won't help me get my money back for the renter's insurance I had to get for an apartment that wasn't in habitable in the first place. But keep asking me for more money! THIS IS NO FAULT OF MY OWN. THESE ARE ALL MISTAKES MADE BY HARBOR PLACE APARTMENTS but I'm being penalized for it.
I'm upset about losing money and wasting my time but I'm glad this happened before I move in.
