National Park Seminary Apartments

I lived at NpS from 2019 - 2024. When a job offer came about in 2024, I relocated to Boston. Despite the amazing opportunity presented in Boston, I elected to return to the magic of this castle and the community that is a key part of its brilliance. I was here when management was less than ideal, but have enjoyed the change in management that occurred in 2020.

It took awhile for management to become accustomed to this highly diverse and somewhat eclectic community, but she has become a... friend to many of us. She also stabilized and improved the building's maintenance and care - the NPS team is solid, friendly, and effective.

We all live in apartments that are each unique. There's not a cookie cutter apartment in the building. Each one is unique and special. We are a community who appreciates the eccentricities and the people who inhabit our spaces.

DO NOT LEASE HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT, MANAGER IS A NIGHTMARE

You seriously need to reconsider who is at your front desk. The woman I interacted with was nasty and rude, and I was not made to feel welcome in the slightest. She was completely unhelpful and had a massive superiority complex. You really want someone like that representing you? If you are considering renting an apartment or otherwise, stay as far away from this place as possible. You will not be treated kindly or warmly. In... addition the leasing office is so heavily perfumed, I felt my throat close up while I was just standing there, I have asthma and very easily could’ve ended up having an asthma attack, and I have doubts the front desk lady would have helped me if I had. Please find someone kinder. I will also add that it is extremely difficult to reach the front desk, of the 10 or so times I called, I only managed to reach a person once. My email was left unanswered and I ended up having to contact Abaris regarding my inquiry who tried their best to help and ultimately got talked down to by the same woman who talked down to me. I do wonder if there was a race issue and this woman knows she can throw her weight around without consequence. Funny enough when I spoke to the person at Abaris, they told me they don’t like interacting with her because she is difficult and rude and I wasn’t the first person to say that about her. Imagine being able to communicate effectively because one side (your manager) is so difficult to communicate with that Abaris doesn’t want to interact with them. You also shouldn’t list Abaris’ phone number if they have no authority in regards to the seminary apartments, I wouldn’t have had my timed wasted or the awful interaction with your front desk person if that had been the case. They have mice . Do not care about you or your comfort and are rude

I’ve been trying to get in contact with someone to schedule a tour for a week now, still not even one response, no one ever answers. I've called at least 20 times, tried to schedule a tour at least 12 times. It’s really frustrating because the apartments look very nice and I would love to give this place an opportunity but they are making it hard. I see that this has always been an issue from the reviews from 2019. It’s sad that they still haven’t put forth an effort to have better customer... service. The lease office has a lot to be desired. The property is nice, quiet and a nice structure to live in. However, if you need anything from the lease office....forget it, it is truly hit or miss. And that goes for maintenance too! In the year and 8 mos, I've been here, there have been at least 4 different office managers. The best one they had was a temp (Amber)

Answering the phones has always been an issue. I've called from my residence on the first floor and get no answer. Walk down and... there she sits. The security call box number is given to select tenants and doesn't work on all boxes (nice security...when being chased and need access) Parking - OMG, I don't drive, but I hear tenants complain all the time. If you are not home by 6pm (sometimes 7pm) you can forget a parking space close to the building. Try 2 buildings over and walk up a hill with groceries in the rain a few times and you'll understand. Parking is simply horrible.

If you can deal with the lease office, it is a wonderful place. Otherwise, do yourself a favor, move on. Only reason I haven't is because of the income restriction, my age and I don't have the help.
