The Fairways at Woodfield

When I moved into my apartment I had a lot going on in my life. Newly separated and had just been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer the week I moved in.
The staff were very helpful and always available if I needed something. Problems were addressed immediately. If work had to be done I was notified when to expect the maintenance people who were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. They did what needed to be done, cleaned up after themselves and always asked if there were any other issues that… needed to be taken care of.
After a year I found a house and moved but would have gladly stayed longer if not for that. My 3rd floor apartment had a beautiful view of trees and the pond. I had a vaulted ceiling in the living room with a gas fireplace, 2 good sized bedrooms and baths. The kitchen was small but had everything you would find in a larger kitchen. When I had first moved in I was amazed at how lovely of a facility this was. Until I discovered within the first week that there was not much in the way of soundproofing in the apartments. My upstairs neighbors had children that they essentially neglected. Stomping for on average at least 8 hours a day... I politely talked to the neighbors about it and was ignored. Having lived in community living before, I decided to give it a few months.

I eventually called the cops due to screaming at one… in the morning, followed by involving the office. I had been woken up by the loud TV at 3 am more than one occasion. I wasn't getting any proper sleep, I became irritable averaging on about 3-4 hours of sleep every night. The office stated that they were enforcing the policy of 10 pm bed time, they had sent letters to them... No improvement had been made during the year I lived there. I had wondered why the office had stressed loud noises so much...

The office doesn't notify when maintenance is doing any work within the area. There is no form of communication to the tenant. I had not been notified when my building's pipes had frozen. The office managed to screw up their own work orders on multiple accounts.

When I had a leak from my upstairs neighbor's shower drain, they had to tear a hole in 2 places in my ceiling and did not come to repair it. They left it there for a month because I was leaving. It didn't matter that I was still paying and using my apartment. Maintenance also scratched my floor and tub with the ladder.

The ladies in the office argued with my sister and accused her of being a liar when we had dropped off our gym fob and house keys at separate instances and attempted to charge us for it. They eventually found that we had indeed given it back to them. I had paid the last water bill installment only to be accused of not paying it and it being held from our deposit. My sister had to call the 3rd party company they used several times because the office refused to talk to the 3rd party confirming in fact that we did pay for our water. After months of phone calls and emails back and forth, my sister was eventually issued the check for the difference owed because they made us pay for the water bill twice.

Aside from my neighbors upstairs, every tenant that I had gotten to know in passing stated how much they hated it here and couldn't wait to leave. Read More

I never thought apartment living would be so easy. The staff is super friendly and theh make you feel like family. The grounds are kept very neat and clean. The complex is pet friendly.

Just moved into my apartment a few days ago and I'm enjoying the space, location and nice neighbors. Staff has been helpful with the move and getting adjusted to the community. Apartment is close to expressways, fast food, grocery stores and more. So far, a good move to a quiet area.
