Pet Friendly on the River

Great place to live! I've lived at East Main apartments for over a year now and I love it! They allow me to have my lab/pit mix pup with reasonable fees. The rent is very reasonable and the apartments are super cute. Grand river runs right behind the complex and it's a beautiful place to sit and relax or walk your dog.

Don't judge an apartment by its exterior

Let's be honest, there is not much going on in REO town. However, this apartment complex (it is only two buildings so its stretch to call it a complex) is in a nice location. I have only been here for a short while, and I'll update when I have spent a bit more time here, but here are my thoughst so far:

Pros:
Located blocks or so from downtown Lansing
Right off of 496
Relatively quiet complex
Affordable rent
Nice apartments (living space)
Free heat
Right off the river

Cons:
Very plain… exterior
Hallways outside of apartment are a little gross (old carpet, hint of a smell)
Inconvenient package delivery/pick up situation (Mon-Fri 9-5 in main office)
Not much nearby

REO town is trying to get its act together, so there are a few businesses that have cropped up. That is promising. I love my actual apartment. Everyone seems friendly, and though they accept pets (I do not have one) I have not had much trouble with barking dogs. I think it is a good deal for the rental rates.
