As for the city itself, Portland is a beautiful community with every service one would need nearby. Portland is located on I-96 and it is about 16 miles from the first Lansing exit and about 35 miles from the first Grand Rapids exit. It is an ideal place for people who wish to live in a smaller community and to commute to Lansing or to Grand Rapids. And I live in a very safe neighborhood. WiFi is available and the house has air conditioning. The rent is $435 a month. This includes utilities so you never pay more than $435. The deposit is also $435 and is due at signing. The deposit will be fully refunded to you when you leave the room as long as everything is in acceptable condition. The lease is month to month. I keep the rent low in order to make it affordable for people who wish to commute to Lansing or to Grand Rapids, but you do not necessarily need to commute to those places in order to live here. I would like you to make at least a nine-month informal verbal commitment, but you are not bound by this commitment. If something comes up and you need to move out, then I will understand that and all I will need from you is 30 days of notice that you are leaving.
