Arbor Lake Apartments

Apartment Management/Staff – Initially was not going to live here because the amount I was initially told I would be paying was not honored (should have got it in writing) and I ended up paying $20.00 more. When I left a message asking if it would be honored, I received a somewhat rude voicemail stating that there were other people waiting to move in and that I needed to make a decision. Since I decided to move in, however, my opinion of the staff has changed for the better. Overall, the… office staff is approachable and friendly. Complaints and request are handled fairly quickly. I did have a broken item that took them months to fix, but to be fair they did credit my rent a small amount until it was fixed. They are easy to reach and will call you back if you leave a message. An improvement that could be made is the communication between staff. Do not expect any specials as this is family owned and they do not have the option to pay online yet, but they are working on it.

Apartment Grounds – The washer in laundry room in my building was out of service for over two months before it was fixed. The grounds are kept up well as in free of trash and pot-holes. You will not have to worry about getting roaches or other critters because the expectation is clear of what they expect as far as cleanliness from tenants. The area is quiet. If your unit is near Byron Center Ave you may hear minimal noise if you have a window cracked. Since it is close to 28th street that is to be expected. The lake is also a beautiful view to look at from your apartment.

Apartment/Neighborhood
All of the appliance are up to date, but the apartment is a little outdated. I am disappointed that there is not a programming feature for the a/c & heat, but it works well. The dining light fixture is not centered to the dining area so it may not hover over your dining set. The apartment is a comfortable size and does not feel like a box. I have had a quite a few spiders in my apartment, but if I call regarding this issue I am quite confident that they will attempt to resolve the problem. The area is relatively safe and has good lighting around the complex.

Fitness Area
I do not recommend using the workout room as almost all of the machines are run down or do not work. One the machines I used was loose and making a loud noise. I hope that they replace the equipment so that I can workout here sometimes than drive to the gym.
