If you're considering living at Flashcube Apartments in Kansas City, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you're willing to fight and file multiple complaints. My experience here has been frustrating and disappointing, especially when it comes to parking and utilities.
First, parking is an absolute joke. Residents are required to pay for a designated parking spot, but management does not enforce it at all. As a result, people who don't pay for parking regularly take spots that others... are paying for. It completely defeats the purpose of having assigned parking and creates unnecessary stress on a daily basis.
Second, the utility system--specifically the extra steam and chilled water charges--makes no sense. Even when you barely use these services, your bill somehow increases. When you try to get answers or help, management just redirects you instead of actually resolving the issue. There's no transparency, no accountability, and no real support for residents.
Overall, between the lack of parking enforcement and the confusing, seemingly inflated utility charges, living here has been more of a headache than anything else. Save yourself the frustration and look for a place that actually respects its residents.

Not the worst and not the best. I should had looked into the apartment a little bit more but it was the only thing available at the time I needed for school. The flooring is not for me because its just all cement. It's all cracked and coming apart as just by walking will make some pieces of the cement break off and stick to your feet. The open concept is great and the counter tops are nice. The windows are very nice since they are huge. Sadly the apartment kind of falls short of the luxury side.... They preach of the smart technology but yet they don't even work in the apartment. The smart technology only works for the building but not your specific unit. The walls are super thin by the windows and therefore you will be able to hear everything your neighbor does in their living room area. I can hear their phone ring and them just speaking as if they are literally right next to the wall. The bedroom and walk-in closet are spacious and nice. Crime rate is very high here for car break-ins. So many cars in the parking lot have their windows broken. Not sure if anything is being done or not since its been going on for quite awhile now. So, definitely do not leave anything valuable in your car. The water system is something else. The laundry only uses hot water. So if you have something that can't be washed in hot water, you wont be able to wash it in the laundry machine. I've set it to cold but it always ends up being extra hot instead. The water takes forever to heat up for the sink and shower as well. It usually takes 5 minutes for the shower to warm up and stays nice and warm for a good 2 minutes before turning cold again. I only take a shower for about 5-10 minutes usually. So I get to shower in cold water for most the time. The water system is also super heavy in metals. So your skin will be super dry. I used a water testing kit and it was at max level for heavy particles. Lastly, the most irritating thing is the communication from the staff. They are super communicative during the leasing process. The moment you sign that lease and are done, they just won't care about you anymore. They never reply to emails or phone calls anymore. You have to hunt them down all the time at the leasing office area if you can find them there or not. Overall, I would not extend my lease here or ever come back once I'm out of here. There are definitely a ton of other apartments nearby that are the same price or cheaper that are luxury.

Most of the apts. do not have windows in the bedrooms, but they don't tell you this. The walls are paper-thin. All sorts of people coming in and out the building to use the amenities (mostly the basketball court area). A few months ago there was a shooting that you probably didn't hear about on the news, the back entrance glass was smashed and replaced with a piece of wood. It took them 2 months before it was fixed. Also the elevator glass keypad was smashed in by a tenant. The intercom alarm... goes off at 2 sometimes 3 AM and then you are told (sorry, that was a false alarm). They will tow your car (no questions asked) even though you are a resident and paying to park in the lot. Cars are broken into OFTEN.
Beautiful building, but NOT WORTH IT!
