Worst apartment I have ever lived in
My horror story starts at move-in. My furnace was being installed. Yup, they didn't think of doing that until there was something moving in. The guy doing the work left and doing return for several days. I was without heat for my first 2 weeks in the middle of the winter.
I had 30 maintenance requests while a tenant. They ranged from the cold water not working to a pipe beneath the sink busting to the garbage disposal not working to no AC in the summer.
I was unable to use my shower for the... last 3 months of my tenancy due to no cold water. In fact the water would get so hot when I ran a bath that I would have to cut it with water from my kitchen tap. The surface of the tub started peeling as a result. Peeling. I didn't know that was a thing.
Two out of the 4 burners on my stove didn't work.
Management is non-communicative and unprofessional. Advertised pool wasn't opened the whole year I lived on-site. I could go on and on.
There's a reason they don't ask for a deposit too. They plan on nickel and diming you for everything after you turn in your keys. I was provided with a list of possible costs for repairs a week after I moved out. This information was never brought to my attention when I moved in.
All in all, Highland Village is predatory and the bottom of the barrel as far as apartments go. Avoid at all costs.
