On the outside, this looks like a luxurious apartment complex with nice amenities, but after living there for four months, you'll realize this is simply a façade. -Obnoxious, ratty neighbors with no moral code or sense of humor. -Rude, arrogant, and frankly, irritating lease office workers. (no bedside manner) -terrible interior decor throughout the building. -paper thin walls & floors -expensive parking -expensive/not worth the cost

Great Experience at Link IQ
I've had a very positive experience living in Link IQ. The apartment is spacious, modern, and well-designed. There is ample usable storage space in the closets, plenty of countertop space in the kitchen, and deep kitchen cabinets. I love living across from Bailey Park which has plenty of community events (outdoor movies, festivals, food trucks, etc) and just down the street from the Patterson Ave entrance to the Long Branch trail for running & cycling (connects to the Salem Creek Greenway).... There isn't a major grocery store downtown yet, so a car is still a must-have to do errands/shopping. However, the parking situation in the connected parking deck is convenient and there are secured key-fob access entries into the apartment complex for safety. I appreciate not having to scrape ice off the car windshield in the early winter mornings.
I'm really sensitive to noise and was concerned about the freight train adjacent to the building, but living on the inside of the complex (facing the pool) actually buffers the horn noise really effectively and I don't feel any vibrations. The train comes by 1-2 times in the evening/morning when I'm in the apartment (it occasionally comes by between 12-2am and 6-9am, but it's rare - usually only once every few weeks) and it doesn't even wake me up anymore. I do also wish the units had a nicer dishwasher, the one in my apartment is loud and doesn't wash well (I've had better models in my previous downtown apartments), but it's definitely not a deal-breaker.
I've lived for several years in downtown Winston-Salem in other apartments and I'm very satisfied with my move to Link IQ. The apartment is beautiful, the residents are friendly, and the leasing agents are extremely personable and go above and beyond to make all residents feel welcome in the community.
