The Don

The Don has gradually gone downhill. Common areas—including the hallways, elevators, and outdoor spaces—are frequently littered with garbage or dog urine. Pets are often off leash and running through the halls. There is a persistent smell of marijuana and cigarettes throughout the building. Additionally, management is slow to respond to requests and complaints, if they respond at all.

Don’t even bother with this place, can hear others around in other apartments. Elevator is always a main problem, it’s constantly shutting down. Plus maintenance takes forever to take care of that problem or any problem you have. The property manager does not do a good job at responding back if you have an issues going on. Terrible, terrible property management, hallways always smells like wet dog or just smell like bad body odor. People are stomping above you and have no respect for others. The hallways are so hot, I never once turned on my heat in the unit all winter long. You cannot regulate the temperature in your unit because of the hallway temperature. That goes for summer and winter. The pipes are not well Insulated and the temperature of your water is very inconsistent. This building does not register on most maps, and therefore it is difficult for people to find the building, including mail delivery services. Most services cannot deliver to the building as there is not a... secure entryway for carriers to leave packages. The units are also not very soundproof, so you will hear every argument from your neighbors. The lighting in the hallway is also inconsistent, and I would frequently walk the hallway in the dark. This building is relatively new, however, the elevator has gone out at least six times and there is only one elevator for the entire building. The light over my shower never works and neither does the exhaust fan. I have had maintenance “fix” the issue, but it still doesn’t work. LOVE this place!! I am obsessed with the fitness room and how spacious my unit it!

Think twice or eight times before you rent from Epic and especially this building. Not sure if they rushed it so it is this bad but it is falling apart since the day it opened.

I have went days without heat, no hot water for almost a week at a time, no cold water for months, elevator not functioning, can’t use underground parking because you either can’t get in or can’t get out. The server room door is open and has been since November as when it is shut the servers overheat and take down all... the doors so no one can get into the building. It also takes down internet which is spotty at best even on good days. The hallways are 85+ degrees because the heating doesn’t work correctly in most of the building. The “gym” has equipment that isn’t functional and the few pieces that are well being your phone as no TVs work. The gaps around the doors are so huge you can hear every word in the apartments and I’m fairly certain there is no insulation in between units so enjoy your neighbors arguments.

Good luck if anything breaks on Fri-Sun. You will wait until Monday to even get a call about it. The emergency line rarely answers and if it breaks during office hours the staff refuses to answer the phone after the first person calls to report it.

There is a reason over 3/4 of this building is still empty and it’s been open for 6 months. We warn our acquaintance so take this as your warning. It will be the worst experience of your life. Read More
