Millpond at Franklin Lakes

We moved to Millpond in 2017. Millpond is a dog and cat friendly community which was very important to us when searching for apartments. We also like the convenience of shopping. There are supermarkets and pharmacies with 2-3 miles and we like the easy access to the highways. We also love how Millpond has beautiful exteriors as well as the interiors. The buildings are situated in a park like location surrounded by woods. There are Tennis courts, nature trails and a dog park right across the… street. Millpond also has a pool and a club house which is very nicely furnished and can be rented out for private parties and there is always a holiday party and a summer BBQ for all of the residents. Our daughter recommended moving to Mill Pond in order to be closer to her and her family in Fair Lawn. We were then in the process of selling our Rockland County home of 30 years and thought we’d find a rental to hold us over until we could find another home in Bergen. Three years later, we’re still living at Mill Pond with no desire to go back to a private home with all of the expenses of owning a home; (property maintenance, property taxes, larger utility bills, insurance, etc). The property is immaculately maintained, decorative flowers are seasonally changed, there are outdoor grills available, and our roads are kept well cleared during the winter season. The pool and clubhouse are clean and modern. There are community get-togethers facilitated by management throughout the year. I have been living at Millpond for the past two years. It is a well appointed property. The management is extremely responsive and the superintendent always responds immediately, even on weekends. It is pet friendly which is rare. The clubhouse is immaculate and welcoming. There is a small business center and gym. The pool is an extra plus during the summer. Management was also responsive to residents request to expand hours and extend the season into September weekends. Very appreciated… . I am very content living here, with no worries for timely snow removal, maintenance, etc. There are two large events each year, June and December that are nicely catered and all residents are invited to meet and greet your neighbors. My family and I have been living here at Mill Pond for the past two years and we've never had any issues. We have pets and only had one noise complaint against us, however, the property manager informed us about it and we've dealt with the issue. The Building Superintendent is super nice and always gets back to us within the hour! He's even had his assistant help us if he's unable to get to us in time or is fixing someone's apartment and our concerns are an emergency. Our neighbors are super… friendly and always speak which is nice! It's a diverse neighborhood of age and ethnicity.

We live on the top floor and we've never heard a sound from our neighbors! The walls seem to be thick enough that no one hears each other, unless someone's yelling REALLY loud.

The pool area is very nice; the steps are graduated and there's a small lounge area where you can sunbath and there's a grill. I don't know if it's for the tenants to use, but it's nice that they have it.

The Clubhouse is pretty nice as well. There's a computer lab with a few desktops and printers, a sitting den with a nice flat screen panel as well as a kitchenette you can store your drinks and food in for parties. You can rent out the Clubhouse for a small fee which is always nice if you're looking to host a Christmas or Thanksgiving Party! Even a Summer Barbeque party. The Workout room is small, but they have decent machines and weights. A lot of people use the machines regularly and they're always clean. I've never seen any towels or wipes laying around.

The land is beautiful in my opinion; they mow the lawn at least once every week (sometimes two weeks depending on the weather) and the flowers are beautiful as well. My only complaint is that there's a lot of tree ticks, especially where the dog waste basket is. They treat the land twice a year, but I don't know if they've ever treated the trees before. Our dog gets at least 3 a year and I've had one tick on me. However, I've never seen a deer tick on us or our dog so that's a plus! We don't have a deer problem over on this side of town, when we lived off of Colonial Ave, there's a MAJOR deer problem so it's nice not having to worry about that anymore.

I'd say that if you have the money to afford this apartment complex, you're getting your money's worth. Read More
