Untrustworthy
Stay away from this agency at all cost!!!! On 8/8/2021 I went to go see the property “In Bayonne,NJ” with the realtor Abe. From the moment I decided I was going to pick the apartment he was pressuring me into paying a deposit to “hold” the apartment without even seeing it in person. On the day of viewing the apartment he kept pressuring me more into signing a reservation paper & paying the first month rent to hold to apartment for me since it was in my budget. I agreed because I’m 7 months... pregnant and really need to move. I informed him about the safety and cleaning state of the apartment that needed to be fixed. I requested to see the apartment again prior to moving in and he yelled & screamed at me stating that’s now how things work. I called the office and then he called me back with a date to see the apartment again. I revisited the place on 8/22/2021 & the apartment still wasn’t clean, the dishwasher was filled with roaches, behind the stove had a big hole which indicates a rat & roach infestation. I spoke to the super about it and he informed that the unit has a bad roach infestation problem. I called Abe the next day and informed him about the issue and his response was basically “oh well if you don’t take it you lose your deposit”. I then spoke to the manager and his response was basically the same with little to no help. It’s clear that none of the MEN have children or was never involved in raising their kids. It is unsafe for me to have to deal with that with a NEWBORN having people come in and fume the apartment, it’s toxic and damaging to my child health. In my lease it states if any damages aren’t fixed prior to move in I’m responsible for any and all costs for the super/landlord to fix. It’s inconsiderate to have to pay the price for something I shouldn’t have to deal with. I haven’t signed the lease yet and they’re refusing to refund my deposit for them to hold the apartment for me.
