Montclair Gardens

Current tenant here since fall 2023. Older positive reviews online are from old owners/management. New management is terrible, never wants to replace anything until things repeatedly stop working -- examples of mice and elevator issues in the past resolved after months of complaints. Currently ongoing issues with laundry (only 2 of 6 dryers work, 4 of 6 washers for 70 units), which have been broken on and off for the past year. Mgmt. continues to replace parts instead of replace machines.... Treadmill in gym broken for over a year. TVs in gym don't actually work, just there to falsely advertise to prospective tenants. Here’s what you should expect if you decide to move here…
- Not a fully renovated apartment
-Very old chipped up and incredibly loud squeaking floors (unless you are on the 5th floor you will hear incredibly loud creaking when upstairs neighbor is walking
- Some roaches
- Some mice
- a large rat or two
- basically non existent management
- there’s a very nice and helpful super, but there’s over 100 people living here and he in no way can handle the workload of what is required to sufficiently... run this building
- management is the worst I’ve seen. You will get zero help. They are over their heads with everything going on here and they will even acknowledge it.

Me and my wife move from California and fell in love with Montclair New Jersey but we decided to move from our old apartment into a bigger apartment with more things to offer and we found a perfect place with a gym, fire pit and BBQs and a perfect area next to shopping centers and restaurants. The staff is wonderful and the neighbors are very friendly.
