Park Square Apartments

Moved in a few months ago. Regret every moment. Had I read the reviews, I would have not moved here. They charge $360 for amenities that are of no use (so basically charging us for upgrades) Media room unusable, terrace? (you need to go through gym to get there, so imagine that) pool room very small and open space. When you enter through Irving St, that Lobby smells. I had one guest over, and I had to spray before they came in because I was embarrassed. Elevator got a new carpet but the… elevator is old and it is not cleaned: you can see that on the edges of the floor as you enter. Garbage in garage is gross. As is on floors where they mistakenly put garbage cans that sometimes are overflowing. Common areas were updated but garbage rooms were not. Rug on some floors smell like dog pee. There is no communication: I saw charges for utility fee, water and sewer recently. All these charges appeared on rent bill with no explanation. (never told about this in the beginning) So whose water am I paying? There is no itemized bill of my usage. And paying for sewer? Never heard of this. Emails are not promptly answered. No professionalism or etiquette. Staff lives on premises so whatever notices are put out there, it is difficult for them to enforce. Garbage is a big issue. My apartment was given to me without being painted and I was told it was. Cabinets are only painted outside, very poorly. White paint chips. They put new hinges yet you can still see holes of old ones. Bathtubs are disgusting. Maintenance does not follow through. Have an ant problem in kitchen. Never knew NJ had roaches. See them in main bathroom often. Tenant front doors are poorly painted. Package room is often a disaster and anyone can come and take your package. Garage doors are old and when you open one, both garages open and stay open long enough for anyone to enter. Sometimes they won't open at all. Tenants are nice, yet some may not be willing to tell it as it really is. Owner whoever that is is busy denying issues instead of Fixing the problem. I’ve lived in Park Square for 3 years, although under new management Park Square never lost its charm. New management is proactively taking steps to make it feel like home for new and existing residents. We have a newly renovated lobby, along with renovated amenities. From what i’ve seen in rahway and near by towns Park Square has the biggest rooms. With spacious kitchens that have islands and a plethora of cabinet and closet space. Location is fantastic. In the heart of downtown Rahway you get… a feel for city life, while having your peace maintained. Small businesses all around such as cafes, restaurants, pubs, and an arcade. If you are commuting to New York, literally a 1 minute walk to the train station. Minutes drive from major highways and parkways. Just be aware they will give you a fraction of your deposit back. Horrible soundproofing, you will hear everything your neighbors do and smell everything they smoke. Dont get me started on the fire alarms. Must have had at least 20 sleepless nights within the past year due to these alarms in the middle of the night. Just ask a current resident or the rahway fire department! And ants everywhere!

I've lived here for almost two years and have had the opportunity to experience what this apartment has to offer (from the available facilities, operations, management, and maintenance requests). Most notably, also the management change. I can say in full appreciation it has been quite a pleasure. Management (Premier Properties) did not skip a beat from on-boarding and picking up loose ends left by the previous management. From beautification/renovation efforts, to repaving the facilities, it… appears that they have not been sparing any expense. The facilities are well-kempt, maintenance requests have a short turn around, and Vanessa (Office Administrator) is extremely prompt and courteous with any additional requests. The communal facilities (billards, gyms, club room) are great for casual use. Kudos to Vanessa and Chris for always making themselves available, delivering prompt and courteous customer service. They are a credit to these apartments and a primary reason to positive experience/review. Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but living in a community requires a certain level of responsibility and neighborly care that most people deem extraneous.
