Museum Hill is off of Old Santa Fe Trail. The Santa Fe Ski Basin is about thirty minutes away. There are trails for every kind of hiker here; some a mere ten minutes up the hill from your casita (Atalaya Trail), and others further out of town. Once in town, getting around is easy. Downtown Santa Fe and the surrounding historic districts are compact and most conveniently traveled on foot. The Santa Fe Pickup Shuttle is a free shuttle service that starts and ends in front of the former New Mexico Film Museum (the Jean Cocteau Cinema) on Montezuma Avenue and runs counter-clockwise with various stops around downtown. Santa Fe has public transportation called Santa Fe Trails Bus Service. Uber & Lyft rides can easily be arranged in Santa Fe using their apps. Metered parking spots in downtown Santa Fe cost $2.00 an hour and are in operation from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, excluding major holidays. Bicycle paths and trails for all levels of riders are located in and around the city.
