Life on a lake
This is hands down the best (and my favorite) apartment complex I've ever lived in. The quality of the homes is top notch. The layout is a smart use of space, the walls and ceilings/floors are thick and good at blocking sound, the staff is amazing, and the views are just downright beautiful. The units have a washer and dryer in them, so no sharing with strangers. The back patio is spacious! Perfect for outdoor dinners in the warmer months. The online portal makes scheduling rent payment easy... (including setting up autopay). And they frequently have food trucks near the main office, for a quick and easy way to get tasty dinners! The place just invites you to go for evening walks around the property.
Ashley, the property manager, was unbelievably helpful at all times, starting with helping us when we needed to move ASAP. She helped us get through the application process in no time at all. Clear communication, very quick to respond, and she really knows her stuff! During our stay, she was able to quickly answer any questions. When we needed a microwave replacement, it was done incredibly quickly. We also have a couple of cats, and the maintenance staff was careful to make sure they didn't get outside. Ashley's been a manager here for years, which is such a positive (too many apartment complexes have fast manager turnover, but not Deer Lakes).
We ended up getting back into the house hunting market, and Ashley was our agent as well. Once again, she was wonderful. It was bittersweet buying a new home, because we loved living at Deer Lakes that much, and we were sad to leave. Truly, if they offered some of the units for sale as condos, we would've just bought our unit and stayed for the long haul. How can you beat living right on a lake?
