Without Question, the WORST place I've ever lived!
*NO HEAT most of the time!
*Electrical probably needs upgrading - when you use the microwave, the lights dim!
*Paper-thin walls – I can hear ALL my neighbors conversations!
*I have already heard two verbal fights that escalated to physical altercations by the couple in one of the apartments above me!
* The tenant above stomps from one end of the apartment to the other, non-stop, between 3am and 7am EVERY DAY like it’s their job!
*Filthy Apartment – not even broom cleaned before my move-in date!... Previous tenants’ hair is everywhere; kitchen cupboards caked and sticky with grease; filthy kitchen appliances inside and outside; mounds of dirt, even chap sticks and cutlery behind and under all the kitchen appliances!
*Bathroom just plain NASTY!
*Bi-fold closet doors in the apartment have fallen off the tracks!
*Obvious dirt around and behind the outlet and switch plates - they simply painted over the dirt!
*I just keep finding filth everywhere including mounds inside and hanging on the bathroom and kitchen vents!
*Shared terraces so anyone can walk over to your terrace door and windows and see or enter inside!
*Roaches!
*Dog barking ALL DAY & NIGHT even though I was told NO DOGS or PETS are allowed – BTW current ads for the apartments say “Cats Allowed - Dogs Allowed!”!
*Filthy elevators and gigantic questionable stains on hallway carpets!
*Extremely small refuse room for the number of tenants on each floor so it is always overflowing with garbage, blocking the shoot so you can't even get in to properly dispose of your garbage!
*Impossible street parking so they charge excessive parking fee for outside and underground on-site parking!
*Nasty and rude security guard; non-English speaking maintenance staff; unavailable super and no contact information for landlord/management company!
*Unbelievable noise from the nearby school!
*EXCESSIVE rent for non-upgraded apartment although this is a rent-stabilized building!
*Laundry room is not clean and requires a huge amount of "quarters" per load!
*Building front door lock flimsy and requires two hands to open door so forget about holding onto your packages/bag/child, etc.
Most of the maintenance and cleaning issues were pointed out to the broker who assured me they would be addressed before I moved in! Unfortunately many of the above would not have been seen during the viewing of the apartment and only experienced once you move in!
My advice – BEWARE! Seek living accommodations elsewhere.
