The Schermerhorn

The Schermerhorn's location cant be beat! Its right in the heart of Downtown Bklyn, and the neighborhood is friendly, hip, and convenient to BAM, Atlantic Terminal, Brooklyn Bridge Park, great restaurants/bars/shopping, and multiple subway lines. The building has unique features like a fully functional black box theater, computer lab, and green spaces. The problem is with the compact apartments. Most units are single occupancy studios, so you live in very close quarters with your neighbors. The... walls between units are so thin you can regularly hear your neighbor's phone calls, music, conversations. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, this may not be the place for you - unless you can meet your neighbors in advance to ensure mutual peace. (But that is doubtful.) Also, the interior ventilation system connects within each apartment, so if your neighbors smoke cigarettes you'll get regular second hand smoke exposure.
