Steps from the gorgeous Promenade and a couple of blocks to the subway
I understand that this building has been converted to condos, but this review is for the building when it was a rental building. You can’t beat the location if you are the kind of person who works in Manhattan and doesn’t want to live “too close” to work (I worked in lower Manhattan near Wall Street and did not want to live too close.). If you have down time, you can stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge or enjoy the Promenade from a bench seat (The Promenade and the Bridge are just steps away from... the building.). There was a good selection of restaurants who delivered to the building when I lived there as well. The local Gristedes grocery store and the Clark Street subway station (one stop to Wall Street) were a couple of blocks away. I recall the doorman and other staff as being attentive and efficient. From what I recall, the building’s package management “system” was fairly “traditional”. Still, I never missed a package or had a package stolen. The management displayed good communication skills and was efficient. My unit had a nice layout and design, though it was modest in size (but it’s NYC!). I liked the unique cherry wood cabinets and flooring, and I had some fun trying to find furniture and decor to match it. There were bug issues as there are in many NYC apartments. Neighbors were friendly enough (NYC.), and a gregarious elderly gentleman (a building resident) who enjoyed sitting on our front stoop was happy to greet me (a member of a racial minority) and the other residents. The fitness center was decent. I had no complaints other than the bugs. Again, the location was amazing. 4.5 out of 5.
