Chelsea Centro - TF Cornerstone
I have lived in New York for just over four years and have lived in a total of 5 different apartments. Chelsea Centro is the first one that I have re-signed a lease with. It is a ideal living situation for someone who is in there mid 20s and is either in or is approaching their second job out of school. The rent is higher than I would have liked to pay immediately moving to NY but it is more than fair for what I receive. The building includes two gyms that are similar to a very nice hotel gym,... two roof decks (one on the 14th fl and one on the 3rd fl), two laundry rooms, and a maintenance team that will help you with all issues. After all my experience in NYC the maintenance is the biggest difference maker. If you live in the building you will NEVER deal with amenities taking forever to be repaired (Stove, AC, Bathroom, etc.). Most issues we have had have been fixed in one day. In addition, it is worth noting that while the rent is higher, I save on a gym membership, which is definitely something I considered in my decision to live there. Lastly, the location is great. For anyone working anywhere from midtown to soho you are within a short walk or citi bike ride of the office. Overall, I highly recommend taking a serious look at this building, even if the spending is a little more that you were initially comfortable with.
