A charming large 1 bedroom apartment retreat in Manhattan.

If you wish to get away from the noise and traffic of the city, surrounded by nature & still live in Manhattan, you will love this apartment building. Across the street from a large athletic field, 1/2 block from the East River, Gracie Mansion (the Mayor's home) & Carl Shurz Park, this Pre-War building is perfect for singles, couples or families. It comes with a beautiful, well maintained garden courtyard for all to enjoy. The building is charming, very well kept, the service people & doormen... are very helpful & very friendly.

This is village living. Around the block is a little neighborhood food store where neighbors can be found hanging out, chatting or playing with the store cat. The neighborhood abounds with a family spirit. From the street, one can see children playing sports in the athletic field, watch large boats go up the East River and view the Triboro Bridge, majestic during the day and magically lit up at night. The smell of baking bread perfumes the air from the bakery down the street a few blocks, and neighborhood regulars can be found eating outside at a Cafe across from the water & athletic field, enjoying the East River and the fresh air.

The apartment is a large one bedroom with little charming extras such as a dining room with built in knick knack hutch, living room with moldings, kitchen with attached dinette, (my favorite room!), a dressing room off the large bedroom with 3 windows overlooking the lush garden and plenty of light. Additionally, the apartment has beautiful white oak wood floors. Adding to the homey atmosphere is a stair case in the dining room with 2 landings, giving access to the roof and incredible views of the East River and beyond, as well as an 8 ft. window on the first landing overlooking the roof and the blue sky which provides light to the dining room and when open, cross ventilation to the apartment.

This lovely, charming apartment is an oasis in a very busy and crowded city; where the apartments feel like homes and everybody knows your name!
