The building is situated in a relatively nice area of the LES (down by the East River). The building is often dirty however, and occasional crime occurs within (also catcalls from the benches outside were something unneeded after coming home from work in the summer). Unfortunately, the building has numerous, pressing issues concerning heat outages, water outages and a HUGE roach problem (think roaches on hallway walls bad). In a painful addition, most of issues occur without prior notification.... The staff is unskilled and bear the mental capacity of stones, often choosing to work only when covering up their own tracks before a building inspection. The manager Ms. (or Mrs.) Obazzee was incapable when dealing with tenants and often made questionable errors under complete confidence, going as far as incorrectly addressing roach problems as "vermin" problems, unknowing of the apparent difference between rodents and roaches, further signaled beyond speech by specific entry under "vermin" as roaches in an inspection log.
Unfortunately, the degradation was enough for a move to Staten Island where post-Sandy measures seem to have taken hold faster than the speed at which the staff addresses plumbing! Read More

This is the perfect building if you want a quick walk to the Brooklyn bridge or the famous south street seaport even takes you to New York City's beautiful battery park and many many more of NY's famous areas.
