Barney Square & W.L. Stockade Apartments

I lived in 5 or 6 different apartments in Barney Square and loved all of them! The people that work at Barneys from the office management to the maintenance are absolutely fantastic people, and will help you out right away with any issue that may arise. That said- really no issues ever came up, and Barneys is a nice peaceful place to live at right in the heart of downtown Schenectady. Living there nearly 8 years, if I could go back in time I would do it all over again in a hearbeat.

We have a beautiful apartment here! It's quiet and the neighbors are all very nice ! Not to mention we are close to everything! Many upgrades happening since new Management came in. We plan on staying here for many years!

I lived at Barney Square for 7 years. In all those years that I lived there, I received great service when needed & the office staff was very accommodating to me. Barney Square is in the utmost perfect location. Schenectady has grown to be an excellent downtown area over the years with great eateries & some shopping (especially on Jay Street). Everything is walking distance from the apartment, which I loved. I am leaving Barney Square on a good note. Life has just taken me elsewhere at the... present time. The first 8 months I lived here I had to deal with very noisy neighbors that I'm quite certain were on welfare. Since they've been kicked out I've really liked the place. The owners upgrade most of the apartments before you move in.

I went by the office twice -- closed. Reviewed published information from their window -- looks like a 12 percent vacancy rate; this is not a good sign. In some ways, this was the preferred location, but hard to do a deal with folks who aren't there, and who seem to have problems doing business.

I signed a lease across the street -- where none of these problems obtain.
