Friendly management and pet friendly. Very reasonably priced compared to other rental options in the area, especially for the unit sizes and close location to campus. Recommended to have your own transportation though since public transit doesn't stop here.

After passing all the pre-requisite conditions to be approved for signing a lease at Monticello Village we get denied because of a credit check that wasn’t on the list of things required. Two days of being nervous and anxious because we only have until the end of the month of October Which is three weeks away from the time of this review to find a place or we’re homeless with my two children. You would’ve thought that a cockroach infested apartment complex would have a little bit of a lower... standard. But to be denied because of a credit score under 600 is just downright ridiculous. Although it looks nice it definitely was not worth the rent. There were cockroaches stinkbugs and there parking lot os extremely small. I helped move out my neighbor who lived there 25 years she said its gone to the dump and I see exactly why she said that.

Monticello went under new management within the last couple of years. We've lived here for almost four months now and cannot recommend it enough. Mona was so helpful during the leasing process and is always very responsive. Maintenance requests are easy to put in and Wes, the maintenance guy, always comes within a day and is very respectful. We have a larger dog and there's lots of grassy areas to walk her. We are not students and were having a really hard time finding a nice place to rent in... Athens. We could not be happier at Monticello. It's a quiet location while still being very accessible to uptown. My family of four truly love living here at Monticello Village. I am an Ohio University (OU) professor. This apartment complex is close to OU campus. I am impressed with its cleanliness, great maintenance team, pest control, and renovations. What really stood out to me is how big the apartments are with spacious rooms, walk-in closets, and Berber carpet. The pool and playground is an additional great feature and well kept.

Living here has been a positive experience. It is quiet, with a... beautiful country view from my patio. It is family and pet friendly as well. I am impressed that pets are screened for the safety of our residents. Our next-door neighbor has a calm sweet small dog who doesn't bother anyone. Lastly, whenever we needed maintenance, they immediately came and fixed the issues without delays.
