I lived at this apartment for 3 years. Overall it has been a great place to live. In a quiet neighborhood that is walking distance to downtown/OTR. Lots of light in the apartment. The landlords are absolutely fantastic, incredibly thoughtful and responsive. Yes, it is an old building, so insulation from both a noise reduction and heat retention standpoint are not going to be the same as what brand new construction offers. That said, I often worked night shifts and was never woken up from noise... from neighbors or bothered by noise in general. Landlord controls heat/air conditioning and keeps it cold in the winter (just enough so the pipes don’t burst). Any sort of temperature control is difficult due to this. Lease terms are strict and almost unreasonable. Soundproofing is not a thing in this building. You can hear your neighbors’ floorboards creak. The walls make it very difficult to hang anything. The closets are very small and landlord charges for additional storage space. Laundry is 14 quarters for a wash and a dry. No grounded... (3-prong) outlets except in kitchen and bathroom.
