The Residences at Town Center

I'm sad that I have to make this review.

I lived here for 3 1/2 years. Starting off, I had a good experience. The location was super convenient and the space accommodated us well. Unfortunately, I have had several problems with the community in the last few years up until finally moving out.

First, the residents have next to no consideration for the people around them. There have been several instances of drivers nearly running over residents due to driving too fast, heavy scent of drug usage,... loud domestic disputes; the list goes on. I have even had to buy my own separate gym membership because the weight room and pool were both heavily restricted/closed due to residents destroying or stealing from both.

Second, employee responsiveness leaves much to be desired. I had to place a maintenance request after the big snow storm last winter because the area in front of the garages was dangerously slippery. They noted that they fixed the issue almost immediately after I submitted the ticket, but nothing was done. This did not get resolved until I followed up demanding this be completed; after my fiance almost fell on the same ice.

Finally, their policy on parking has gotten oppressively worse over time. I understand the need to minimize non-residents taking advantage of the parking spots, but you can do that without creating policies that punish those who actually follow the rules. If you live in a garage apartment, you and your roommate can only park in front of garage buildings, not in the other lines of parking spots. Otherwise, your car will be towed, despite being a paying resident. This makes the parking process drastically more inconvenient and also creates and unfair setting as some residents have more building space to park than others. The final straw was their most recent change, where it essentially forced residents to park in front of their garages. My roommate and I worked separate shifts, so having to rotate cars at 5 in the morning caused unnecessary inconvenience. His car also got towed once, despite being parked in the correct space, with no refund.

I would not recommend this space to anyone. It has only gotten worse over time and I am glad to be moved on to elsewhere. Read More

Buyer beware. Property managers are sketchy as can be and will take advantage of you if possible.

It started after I chose the apartment I wanted and they tried to bait-and-switch me into another unit for the same rate. Upon comparison, the new unit was in a heavy traffic area with a lot of trash surrounding it compared to the quiet, clean unit I wanted.

Management was difficult to contact and deal with throughout my lease (maintenance and the other staff were great, however).

Then, upon... moving out, I gave my 60 day notice I wouldn’t be re-signing my lease, then turned in my keys 6 days early because I didn’t need them anymore. Was charged $3,500 (later reduced to $500) for an “early termination fee”. I fulfilled my lease and gave them proper notice, but because I physically handed them my keys 6 days before my lease ended I was charged and punished.

I’m lucky I could afford this, but for many of my neighbors (especially the English as a second language folk) I feel like this management group takes advantage of its tenants. Read More

After 2years I am so glad to break my lease. Your patience will be tested specially if you live downstair. The apartment is old you will hear your neighbor’s squaky and their bathroom flash. Neighbors can be so inconsiderate they turn their laundry in the middle of the night. Made so many complain regarding weed smell but no action taken. Crime is getting out control too many car theft, packages and burglary. They are partnered with Nationwide their bill is too high and your car insurance will... go high as the zipcode is bad due to many car accidents. Read More

I could go on forever about the issues I’ve had here, but I’ll try to keep it short. Dumpsters always overflowing, neighbors are loud and have so many guests parking is hard to come by, there’s so many maintenance issues (stove not working, dryer steaming the laundry room, windows falling out of window frame, key/lock not working, AC broken to name a few). Apartment was barely cleaned upon move in. Residents hardly ever pick up dog poop. Half of the time my mail is put in the wrong mailbox or I... just don’t receive it. Not worth the decent price.
