200 West Apartments

I have lived here for 2 years now. If the moving process was easy, I would have moved out before the first year of the lease ending to be honest. This building had a lot of potential. But the management needs to get it together. Every other day they’re sending out mass texts/emails threatening to fine residents for new things they discover they don’t like. Things that aren’t in the lease, basically making up new rules as they go. The pool has been closed majority of the time that I’ve lived... here…Including the entire summer last year. Half of the washers and dryers are out of order on a regular basis. They never change the dog waste cans when they should. In the winter the heat doesn’t really work. The heat literally breaks all of the time. And yes they’ll provide you with a space heater if you complain enough…. Even though Space heaters are dangerous and inconvenient. Quite often, they turn the water off with very little notice if any at all. In the summer I’m forced to sleep in my living room because the bedroom air conditioning is TERRIBLE. There’s been a NASTY leak coming from the ceiling by one of the main lobby doors right by the mail area. This leak has been an on going issue for MONTHS. They have the nerve to keep increasing prices at this property when the property has so many flaws. I DO NOT RECOMMEND 200 WEST to anyone. I moved to 200 West last year and just renewed for another year. I have thoroughly enjoyed the amenities and resident events. The whole building was renovated, so practically everything is new. They have coffee and pastry mornings every other Thursday, and recently added in regular game nights and yoga classes. The area is perfect, being 4 minutes from Westgate shopping mall, and the Cleveland Metroparks in the backyard. All around best apartment I’ve ever lived at! Oh and my dog thinks so too!

I lived here for three years. New management is terrible. You will need a space heater. There’s almost no heat in the winter when it’s cold. All management says is her apartment is cold too. I had a window that would not close open in the winner they took 10 days to repair. They will charge you for everything lots of fees. They'll charge you fees so they can do basic landlord duties. That's pretty cool. Maintenance takes over a week to respond to issues, sometimes as long as a month. Oh, and the heat is very poor. They'll offer you a space heater after you contact Fairview Park city hall and file an official complaint about them. In my opinion, not worth the rent price they want. You can find better places for the same or cheaper price.

We have lived at 200 West for 3 1/2 years now and I can't say enough good. It was sold from a family owned business to Corporate owned and we all feared the changes ahead. The new management has been wonderful. They listen to your concerns and address them the best they can and that is usually very helpful. The management has kept the building very much as it was. They have a coffee morning and a game night and the occasional Pot luck dinner. They do so much more than they have to. They plant... beautiful flowers in the spring and fall. The keep the grounds beautiful and the building very clean and comfortable. The Management and Staff are #1. They are so kind, cheerful and caring. I love living here and have to say that Lisa in the front office is a very caring proactive person. We all love her. The staff is so kind and honest. Once I left $20 in the laundry room and one of the guys (DJ) knew I had been in the laundry and brought it to my apartment. Does it get any better than that. We have not had a lot of trouble with noise but I do have concerns about all the carpet being removed and that might make noises more easily heard. Oh also the back outside patio Is beautiful and again well maintained and the indoor pool is wonderful. I use it daily. It is well maintained and sufficiently heated. Also this area is fantastic. You are minutes from the Metro parks walking path and if you go through the neighborhood streets it's only a twenty minute walk to Westgate shopping center.
