Mt. Vernon Village Apts

I have waited over a month for a holding fee refund. I was charged over $150 for just applying and was immediately denied the next day. I was promised the holding fee of $100 to be returned. I have not received any refund and the office manager no longer answers my calls or emails. I was homeless at the time with a special needs child and infant. What a horrible way to do business! Such a shame.

I lived there for almost a year, the apartment was full of mold, no one would respond to my emails and hundreds of calls day in and out. They wanted to pretend it wasn't real. I was so sick I couldn't breathe in the apartment I had to go stay with my mom. I sent them doctors notes, talked to the health department, lawyers. And mnt veron did nothing. They went in to my apartment with out asking. And I wasn't the only apartment with mold. The entire c building is full of mold. Property hasn't been taken care of for many years so it's run down on the inside, especially recently after a fire destroyed 3 apartments and the main office. Electrical system hasn't been inspected for years. Only 1 maintenance man for 124 units (3 buildings) not enough. It's been days since I put in a work order and nothing done. I wish the new owners would renovate and make it safe and I would stay because I love my 4th floor balcony and having laundry rooms on each floor. The elevator stops... working frequently so difficult to carry heavy objects during those weeks. The rent is cheaper than most places, and you get what you pay for. They do allow dogs and cats, one of few places which allows dogs. Read More
