The apartments have old appliances that don’t work but you can “upgrade” for an extra price. If you want a light fixture from this decade it’s another “upgrade”. The kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities have never been replaced. If something doesn’t work properly (and it will)your maintenance call, will be “fixed” with the cheapest materials possible (if you are one of the lucky ones that has your call answered). The thermostats are ancient and don’t work. They falsely advertise a pet play... area- not sure where that is though. They don’t care about you. They care about $$$

I left island club on 03/10/2017 and they charged me 400 dollar. I stayed there for 2 years and before leaving I cleaned the whole apartment carpet. there was very few things which was supposed to be replaced by them as wear and tear happens if somebody stays in an apartment for 2 years. but they charged for each and everything .
I would not recommend anybody to take a lease there but if you do, please please ask for the lease breakage agreement. They have a clause of minimum 6 months you have... to live before breaking a lease. This clause they will not mention when you sign it. So read the terms properly before signing Otherwise you will end up paying 6 months 2 months 1.5 months rent if you need to break the lease.

Read the lease very carefully. It's dense and there are many "gotchas". If for any reason you need to break the lease, it will cost you a small fortune.
Also, the kitchen appliances were old and had many issues. They were barely useful at all and not reliable. Some of the light sockets didn't work at all. The toilet would have to be fixed constantly because the tank would leak over and over again (cheap junk replacement parts). Hallways were full of large scuff marks and dirty/ugly carpeting.... The thermostat was an old analog thermostat, so no temperature scheduling was possible, all manual control (inconvenient).
Moving in and out was a huge headache due to the narrow door/halls and excessive use of self closing doors (pretty much every door is self closing). Had to fight 3 self closing doors in a row every single time going in and out. No way around that. For most of the doors, pinning the door open was also not an option.

I have been living in this apartment for the past 2 years and I love it.
The apartments are very reasonably priced and the management staff is prompt in addressing any issues. Any complaints or problems are immediately taken care of.
We live in the top floor with the cathedral ceilings & the lake view and we loving it there. Another bonus is we get the view of the fireworks in the "kings Island" every night at 10:00 PM :). Some other pros are, plenty of parking anytime, additional small storage... room for each apartment and there is good pedestrian pathway within the apartment complex to take an evening walk. Cons I can think of, the trash drop can be pretty far depending on the location of your building.
