Lafayette Village

I lived here from preschool till the summer before 5th grade. I haven't lived here since like 2007 so keep that in mind. We lived in one of the half basement level units on the first floor. We had bug issues at least 3 times during my childhood and the apartment had to be sprayed, but my parents took those times as opportunities for family days at the park. Despite the bug issues, the apartment housed a great community of people and plenty of other kids to play with. The courtyard was also the... best place to run with other kids. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!! This place is disgusting and management could care less about its tenants. As previously mentioned on other review sites, the hallways are dirty and smelly. Buildings are not well-maintained. It smells like mold and poop. Plenty of dog owners do not pick up after their dogs. Water leaks are usually a big issue in this apartment. Maintenance used to be top-notch but now RARELY do things get done. Also the sound from the shower/ tub faucet sounds like it's from ancient times... . It sounds so annoyingly loud that it shakes the whole building. When it rains really hard or snow melts, the water comes in through the balcony door which forms mold. If you want to sacrifice your health, move here.The laundry room rarely gets cleaned. The machines are old and clothes doesn’t seem to come out clean. Also, parking is very bad. There are not enough spaces for cars to park closer to your building. Parking by the trees will end up being pooped on by a ton of birds. NOT EXAGGERATING!!! When I lived here my car obtained a lot of scratches and tiny dents from people who slams open their cars wide open. Management also increases rent by $20 per year. Buildings are old. The wood panel in the living room is rotting. Each year rent goes up because of "upgrades being done". However, the only upgrades I've seen is in the main office. Don't move here! You won't get any sleep! The bathrooms are so loud that if someone uses it In the middle of the night, it will interrupt your sleep. Turning the tub on shakes the whole apartment. Yikes! The air conditioner are also loud, which sounds like a rocket is about to take off. You can here everything from... people coughing, conversations, loud tvs, and people walking. It's perfect,we watch as they built these apartments and thought how nice it would be to live there and then a few years later we moved in. Our first week there we walk around the grounds,they are beautiful and the people are so kind and helpful. There's a pool,clubhouse, tennis courts and picnic area. What more could I say its great,its like living in these great condos.

Nice place, Best value per square foot in this area. Maintenance is top notch, Buildings manager always responds to calls as quickly as possible. Management company will work with you, should issues arise! I've stayed here many years! Been Great!
