It was somewhere to live
I lived here because I moved last minute due to an emergency. This place had an opening. I toured and it seemed old but fine. I don’t find things not looking perfect and being old.
Pros:
-Office staff is friendly when you go talk to them. -They usually answer emails. Maintenance man usually comes within a couple of days.
-lots of space for the price
-charged a fair cleaning price for move out
Cons:
-them saying they have AC or heat is the biggest scam. Ours never worked.if it was 90... outside it was 88 inside. When we submitted maintenance requested they came and didn’t do anything that changed it. Eventually the maintenance man left a note on our door saying it’s trying its best. When we turned on the AC, our electric bill was UNGOLDY high. Talking over $300. Called the electric company and they told us that was normal for our apartment. We just turned it off, no point in paying that ridiculous amount for something that doesn’t work. Heat also didn’t work in the winter. Had to buy a mini heater because it was in the 50s in my room.
-had a problem with a bird in my ceiling. Chirped non stop for HOURS every day. They spent a week trying to figure out what house had the entrance to the attic (how do you not know that???) only for them to find out their isn’t one. Told me they were asking higher ups if they could cut into the ceiling. Never heard back. Nothing ever happened.
-not the office’s fault but we had major skunk problems. Couldn’t go into the basement for days and all our stuff smelled terrible. The office could never find where the skunk smell was coming from. Offered to pay for cleaning supplies that were needed. Wasn’t possible to get the smell out with those.
-car got broken into. Obviously not the best area.
-stove is so old it barely worked. Our stove top caught on fire once when we turned on the oven.
-convinced the fridge just wasted energy. It worked. Seal so old almost certain that contributed to our electric bill problem.
-they recommended a dehumidifier for the basement. We had a heavy duty one and still got mold.
The price was fair for the square feet we got but not fair for the quality we got. Moved out as soon as I could break the lease. The no AC was just unbearable. I can’t imagine the cost of buying my own window Ac and paying to run that all day.
