I’ve lived here for 9 months, and the problems started on day one. The roach issue has been constant, and despite repeated promises, it has never been resolved. The pest control technician not only did a poor job, but actually cussed me out when I asked why the problem kept coming back. Management’s response was that he’d still be the one to return, and they couldn’t guarantee an apology. Several tenants have the same infestation, so this is clearly a building-wide issue they refuse to address… .

Water bills have suddenly increased for many residents by $20–$40 a month. Mine personally jumped from around $45 to the mid-$70s, justified by a 3rd party with illogical reasoning. Corporate told me the bill is “offset” by charging more to the few units with washer/dryer hookups (only two per building), yet also claimed the property doesn’t profit from water billing. Despite that, all tenants still share the building’s total water usage — even though not everyone receives the same amenities. None of it adds up, and tenants are the ones paying for it.

The A/C went out last month. The technician fixed it but told me directly that the unit needed to be replaced soon. Two weeks later, it failed again, and I’ve been relying on window units ever since. Meanwhile, they continue advertising amenities like a pool that has not been functional once in the entire time I’ve lived here. The laundry room is in such poor condition that many residents go to the laundromat down the road.

And despite all of this — the roaches, the broken A/C, the rising water bills, the unusable amenities — they are still planning to raise everyone’s rent. Some tenants have already received notices. It’s hard to understand how they justify increasing rent when the current conditions aren’t even worth what we’re paying now.

This property takes advantage of people who don’t have the financial flexibility to move. Instead of addressing ongoing issues, management’s attitude is essentially: “You can leave when your lease is up,” or “We can let you out of your lease if you’re unhappy.” That’s not a solution — it’s avoidance.

No one deserves to live with roaches, broken A/C, rising water bills, and unusable amenities. The rent may look affordable, but the real cost shows up in every corner of your daily life.
