Renters beware of the lies
Listing claims building amenities include air conditioning, disposal, day care, security system, safe housing, on-site management etc. I’ve lived in this building for 7 years. Here are the facts! Air conditioning, disposal, day care and safety are complete lies. They DO NOT EXIST. What air conditioning are they talking about? We used to have wall openings where we could place window air conditioners, but those have all been sealed in renovated units. The only air conditioners allowed our window... air conditioners that have to be installed a very specific way and the expense for that is on the tenant only. Even the heat from hot water radiators has been reduced as a cost saving measure so most tenants are extremely concerned about making it through this winter without freezing. The building was constructed with a garbage disposal system that got infested by cockroaches and then was completely sealed off. No form of a disposal system exists. You have to carry your garbage bags in the elevator and toss it outside in the open garbage bin Rich is attached to the building and is the primary source of ants, cockroaches, and other insects. We used to have on-site security, but that was cancelled and replaced by some camera cameras that send a feed to a third-party security company. That is nowhere close to the neighborhood. Courier packages regularly get stolen from right outside our doors, but the security cameras are of no help in tracking down the culprit. Management has informed tenants that the camera feed can only be requested by the police. What good are any cameras when they neither prevent any crime from taking place nor help an immediate access to security. The camera feed serves only one purpose Which is to record evidence that mitigate liability from the management shoulders. Unauthorized entry by homeless and drug addict addicted individuals is a regular occurrence in this building. Residence have been assaulted and harassed yet management has done nothing to improve the situation. While there is a management office in the building, unless you are a potential tenant looking to rent a unit, nobody will answer the door to the management office, even during regular working hours. New tenants are also charged for water usage. Cockroach & pest related issues seem to be neverending. Mngmnt raises rent without providing 90days notice. Metcap has only focused on charging the highest possible rent while cutting costs. Rent at your own risk.
