Lovely place to live

I have lived at Parkview for almost 4 years and in two different units. I first moved into a one-bedroom, which is still my favorite apartment I’ve ever lived in. Later, I transferred into a two-bedroom. There are a couple of things to know before moving here. These are vintage apartments, which means that if you don’t monitor the moisture in your own apartment, you could potentially have an issue with mold. I have never had any mold issues in either of my units. Another thing to note is that… there is no dishwasher, and laundry is shared with three other units. I have never had to wait to do laundry, and I don’t mind washing dishes. The property manager, Shelley, is very responsive and takes care of things right away. Ricky is the maintenance man, and he is one of the friendliest people I know. He gets to know you, handles requests promptly, and always has a friendly conversation with you when he sees you around the property. I am moving because ever since I transferred into my two-bedroom unit and began living on the first floor, I have had an issue with a peeping Tom. Unfortunately, this is just the way Portland is now, so I highly recommend choosing a second-floor unit if you like to keep your blinds open, as I do.

Well -kept landscaping and excellent maintence, move out could be problematic

Month to month rate offered can be $400 over fixed term lease, which can make moving out more difficult, because you only have a chance to move out once per year without a large lease break fee.

Move out cleaning form specifies $10 per slat on blinds if you don't clean the blinds properly. With 20 slats and 7 blinds, that's over $1750 to clean your blinds if they actually follow through with that charge.

My recommendation is to take pictures of absolutely everything at move in and at move… out with timestamp available on photo.

They use a large amount of imodocloprine here on the rhodendrons.

Can be a bit noisy sometimes if you don't like very old heater / boiler systems that tend to clang every once in awhile.

Now that all being said, the grounds are immaculate, you get a storage unit in the basement included in rent, and the maintenance person (Sam) is fantastic. One bedroom units are very spacious, and has tons of closet space. You can get a garage for $150 / month, which is nice to have the option. Obviously location is great if you are looking to be close into the city center.
