In my experience, the owners seem extremely unwilling to spend money to properly take care of their residents, and management turnover has felt like a revolving door. When serious problems arise, it feels like the residents are left dealing with the consequences.

We pay top dollar for a three-bedroom apartment, and the way management has handled a major plumbing and mold remediation issue has been incredibly disappointing. Last year, we dealt with a separate mold/moisture problem involving the… ceiling and roof throughout our apartment. Now we are dealing with another significant moisture-related issue.

A plumbing problem that was not our fault caused water damage and visible mold in our kitchen. Management never explained what type of mold was found or provided any meaningful information about testing. Some workers were wearing masks and full protective suits, yet we were left without clear answers about what they were dealing with.

Our entire kitchen has now been inaccessible for weeks. We have dealt with plastic containment, a large drying fan running 24/7, constant noise, heat, dust, chemical odors, and no kitchen sink or dishwasher. I work from home, so the disruption has been significant.

When we asked about temporary housing, management told us to use our own renters insurance rather than providing accommodations. The alternatives offered were a refrigerator, microwave and hot plate in our living area, plus paper plates and plastic utensils. That is not a reasonable substitute for a functioning kitchen.

What has been most frustrating is the lack of transparency and consideration for the impact this has had on our family. We understand that unexpected repairs happen.
