Shocked with how poorly we were treated as perspective tenants.
I normally wouldn't leave a review unless I was an actual resident but my tour experience was so heinous that it felt wrong not to share.
TLDR: landlord arrived late, spent the next 15 minutes outside on the phone scheduling more new tenants, answered every question I had with another question before being condescending and treating our inquiries like the most obvious things in the world, had another group of people come in during our time slot, and did not show us the property personally,... instead letting a maintenance worker who could not speak English or answer any questions show us the property.
Me and my girlfriend had a tour scheduled for Friday at 9:30AM. I had no issues scheduling. Abe arrived at 9:31AM just as we arrived. He asked for some time to set up and gave us a copy of the lease agreement.
He the proceeds to take at least 2-3 phone calls outside talking to prospective tenants. We could clearly hear him. He asked for 2 minutes and this stretched into 15. By 9:45, we were about ready to just walk out.
When he finally was ready to talk to us, I asked him a few questions about the lease agreement. I was prepared and personally felt my questions weren't poor, but he answered every question with a condescending tone and basically said if you would have read it on the paper you'd know.
I asked him about the process of cleaning up in-between tenants but he once again asked me a question of clarification in a condescending tone and never really answered what was a pretty straight forward question.
At around 9:50, another group of people came into the office, presumably to tour. So instead of personally showing us the property, as every single other landlord or leasing office worker would do, he instead intrusted a maintenance worker. He then starts attending to the group of people that came in after us.
I am sure this man meant well, but he could basically only speak Spanish. Consequently, he was unable to answer any of our questions, as we had to resort to speaking through Google translator. At this point, we had seen enough, and simply left. Pretty sure he saw us leave, but at this point we didn't have time to waste on a busy schedule of tours, and we no longer felt respected by him.
I was shocked at how unprofessional we were treated and couldn't fathom why the landlord didn't show us the property himself. I am not sure why anyone would accept this behavior, let alone want to rent and entrust this person with taking care of you.
