Alden Park Luxury Apartments

Everything's been great except for the fact that I am a little concerned about safety. All of the gates are broken. Three individuals broke into an apartment on our floor (in Kenilworth) a couple of weeks ago--they just walked in and got all the way to the 11th floor and walked right out. I emailed management about this and no one has reached out to me yet to explain when the gates will be fixed and why aren't there more security presence in the lobby of the building at night.

So for the first 15 months of me living here, I was under the impression that park was free after signing my new lease later down the line I was receiving a phone call from the assistant property management, threatening to tow a vehicle that I have on the parking lot and hitting me with all kind of charges that was disclosed to me and the only thing they could provide is a e-signature for me signing a document about parking if you come to this place, you wanna see your signature your real... signature on your documents not an e-signature. Unfortunately, my experience living here has been disappointing due to ongoing maintenance and security concerns. The exterior doors have never locked properly, making the building feel insecure. The parking gates have been broken for months, and even when they were functioning, they were easy to bypass. Security personnel are visible on the property but rarely appear engaged or proactive.

Residents are now required to pay for bulk internet service, which is significantly more expensive for... many of us than maintaining our own plans.

I have also had a ceiling with visible water damage and falling drywall for weeks with little apparent urgency from management. In addition, the resident parking lot is routinely filled with unauthorized vehicles, leaving paying residents without parking while enforcement appears nonexistent.

I hope management addresses these long-standing issues, as they have greatly impacted the quality of living here. Read More

The paid parking gate has never worked properly — it stays open, so anyone can come and go freely. Paying for secured access that isn’t secured is frustrating.

Climate control is unreliable. The unit often runs about 10 degrees hotter than whatever I set the thermostat to. During one power outage while I was at work, I came home to a fridge full of spoiled groceries — lost milk, eggs, the works.

The in-unit washer and dryer are undersized, and the washer leaks. Move-in condition wasn’t great... either: the fridge was dirty and the cabinets were stained yellow with old grease.

It’s not a bad place to live, and the area itself is a draw, but for what’s marketed as luxury, the maintenance and upkeep have a ways to go. Read More
