My daughter and I were living in a hotel after leaving a tenement slum. We needed to find a place fast as we could not afford to stay in the hotel. Patricia and Denise had us in an apartment within the week! They are very empathetic and kind. The apartment had been freshly painted and thoroughly cleaned. The appliances are like new (if not new). I don't Understand the bad reviews at all. We're quite happy here.

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews
I have to say, I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews, but I decided to give York Apartments a chance, and I'm so glad I did! My experience here has been nothing short of fantastic. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure residents are happy.

I can’t even explain how bad
For starters, my apartment didn’t come with a microwave or a dishwasher like it advertised. When I complained and tried to get a new place my phones called were ignored and my emails too. Second, I had a neighbor whose dogs would park 24/7 during the night so I wanted to file a noise complaint and they simply said to it yourself and talk to them first. Third, I have the worst cabinets and drawers ever. This is the second time I’ve had to call maintenance because the fronts of the drawers fell... off / didn’t slide. Mostly recently the whole entire front of my silverware drawer came off and I didn’t have any way to move it. Oh also to mention whenever you slide the drawer or close the cabinets, saw dust will fall on what is below it and ruin your pans so you have to cover them up with a towel so you don’t wash it multiple times. Fourth, the dog park is awful, my dog was getting loose because they didn’t lock the side gate properly and their solution was just to put a rope around it. The gates and fences are falling apart and are about to break so the dog park will be gone soon. Lastly, overall they do not answer my calls or emails asking for help about appliances or anything in general. I have had to physically go to them to get help. The only pros are that the maintenance team is awesome and that you’re in a nice area. If you don’t care for a cheap over priced poor apartment then go here.

Taking your cash
we moved out and made sure the place was spotless because we wanted our $813 deposit back. They decided to give me 100.00 back instead because they had to do a "full cleaning and some mark in the tub that been there when I moved in ." Totally wrong. There was no way they had to replace it clean anything I had a crew with me when I moved out and everyone clean up and it conveniently cost most of our deposit to fix. We're not even the only ones this happened to! Seriously don't live here unless... you enjoy being cheated out of your money. yes I will continue to write review until I get some of my money back..also the people who was with me will continue to write. and dont leave me a message telling me to call sue tammny because she dont return calls back.Darlene Johnson

A good place to call home
A nice place and super convenient to everything. Rent is in line with the market and actually on the lower side compared to some others. Let's face it, nobody is happy with how much things cost today, but that's the way it is. They're not running a charity, it's a business and for all those under 30's who complain about what rent costs and have never owned your own home, you don't yet get it. Your paying to have your own place to live with little responsibility. No paying for home repairs,... appliances, yard maintenance, snow removal or property taxes. As far as one reviewers complaint regarding the pool, they charge a measly one time fee per summer of $5.00 for a wrist band to use the pool for the entire summer and yes, you do have to pay for and have a limit on the number of guests you can bring. It's not a public pool...it's for the residents use. Take a minute to think about how crowded the pool would be on a Saturday if even just half of the people who live here would go. If you are a responsible adult who just wants to live in peace with as little friction to and from your neighbors as possible then this is the place for you. Welcome!
