The Charleigh

Very overpriced and a poorly managed apartment complex. They rely on a great location and a population of college kids who don't know any better to stay afloat. When I moved in the apartment was covered in mold, the sink was clogged, and the flooring was peeling off in what is advertised as (and priced) as a luxury downtown Charleston apartment.

Finally the management team is rude and seems to look for areas where they can nickel and dime tenants. They are generally unresponsive and very rarely... responsive in a timely fashion for what otherwise tends to operate as a corporate rental property. Very disappointing.

If you are looking for a walkable downtown lifestyle, The Charleigh is the place to be. It's incredibly close to the College of Charleston, the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and the Charleston School of Law, which makes my commute a breeze. The on-site retail options are a fun bonus. The apartment itself is stylish and modern, though the parking spaces in the garage can be a bit tight. I’ve absolutely loved my time living at The Charleigh! The apartments are incredibly well-maintained and feature fantastic, modern finishes that make it feel like home. The amenities are a massive bonus—the 24-hour gym, resort-style pool, and cabana area are always kept spotless and are perfect for relaxing or getting some work out of the way. Highly recommend for the location alone! The Charleigh puts you right in the center of everything in downtown Charleston. The apartments themselves are stunning with high ceilings, top-tier finishes, and great views. Management and staff are responsive, and the amenities like the courtyard pool and on-site retail make it feel like a resort. Love it here!
