Founders Park Village Apts

Relocated here recently. After the deposit was sent suddenly voice mails and emails were inconsistently replied to. Questions about pricing not answered. Having never been on the property, I wasn't shown or even given a map of the property rather given verbal directions to the apartment...not a problem except there are several buildings on the property, the office isn't onsite and I've never been on the property. I didn't even know where to put trash. Having told the manager that I was sending… shipping packages, she never told me that the office doesn't accept packages...slight issue. The community describes itself as luxury. The web page was last updated in 2015, formica is used for the base boards and door trim, laminate flooring and counter tops, the paint on the doors and trim are mismatched literally not even the doors are the same color. Washer and dryer are not included--hook ups but not the actual appliance. There is not a pool, work-out room much less a community room. Shouldn't a community grill be a minimum amenity for luxury? There is a no smoking policy, however residents and guest are seen smoking on balconies and walk ways on the property. The community is close to downtown and the landscaping is nice. Read More

Our apartment is in great location, med downtown facilities is very clean.Groceries withen our reach! The park is in walking distance. There's Golf course and we are near the creek. Also we have the M Hill which is for biking and hiking.beautiful view and awesome tenants.. Hope you'll get to pick me or us...love love it! Thank you for consedering me.

Nestled in the base of the Black Hills, Founder's Park Apartments is the best apartment complex I've ever lived at. It is missing some of the special features of other complexes; no gym, pool or community room, but hiking trails begin at the parking lot, basic cable is included in the rent,and for a fee you can get a garage, and/or a washer and drier (hookups in the apartment). Mine is a larger two bedroom, two bathroom. The master closet is walk-in (yes, you read that right), spacious… kitchen, gas fireplace, and balcony. It is secure, accessible to the Rapid City bike trails, and walking distance from Founder's park where the farmer's market is held. It is close to a shopping area and downtown Rapid City.

On the negative side, it is an expensive apartment and the lease is very restrictive.

I entitled this entry "adventure in living" because of the apartment's location right at the base of Black Hills hiking trails. The apartment design is reminiscent of a vacation mountain cabin. It's worth looking at, and if you can afford it, it's a great place to live. Read More

We've lived here over a year out of necessity, but have wanted to move out since day 1. Initially we almost didn't move in because the office staff were so rude, but my husband really wanted to live here for convenience with his work. The first night we were appalled at how much we could hear from our upstairs neighbors. We hear absolutely everything they do.... everything. For bramd new apartments they are surprisingly poorly soundproofed. As for the "luxury" living, well, let's just say that's… a stetch. The materials are cheap and there are no amenities. Our rent has been raised so we're now paying more than we would for comparable apartments in the area. Now we are stuck living here until our current lease is up.
