and are partnering up once again to launch “Crafting for Charity”, a program that will aid an organization that provides transitional housing to families in need.   This week, and employees along with design expert Beth Hunter will renovate the dining area of The Nicholas House in Atlanta, Ga. with several do-it-yourself craft ideas, painting, new furniture, window treatments and more. The two-day effort will wrap up with an exclusive reveal party for residents and staff on Saturday, June 29. DHM-C4C-Blog-Image-1   The 30-year old charity, known throughout the Atlanta community for helping homeless families get back on their feet, was long overdue for an upgrade. The dining space, outdated and furnished with plastic folding tables, is an area where more than 50 residents gather daily to enjoy meals. Dennis Bowman, The Nicholas House executive director, shared that everyone gathers in this space at meal time. “It’s a time to share stories and create memories. Even though these families aren’t in a traditional home, we want them to feel comfortable and safe.” Hence why and are stepping in!   The Nicholas House has more than 40 families participating in its Homeless to Homes (H2H) program, which moves families out of a group shelter and into apartments of their choice for greater independence and accountability. H2H subsidizes a portion of each family’s rent until they are able to take over payment completely and provides case management and support services to ensure progress of goals, life-skills training, and budgeting.   “The Nicholas House works hard to make a positive impact on as many Atlanta families as possible,” said Wendy Froehlich, vice president of marketing. “ and are honored to celebrate and share in that mission.”   Follow the journey on Facebook and Instagram at and transform The Nicholas House to better serve the residents living there.
