Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” At For Rent Media Solutions™ (FRMS), this couldn’t be more true. As a passionate sales team that is a force to be reckoned with in the multifamily industry, FRMS knows how to pound the pavement and provide customers with quality results. On the other hand, giving back is just as important, and there are so many people within For Rent who do just that. And thus, FRMS Gives Back, a new blog series, was born…   We’ll kick off this new series with Diana Paz, national account executive of student media with®, and her passion for the people of Honduras. This passion for helping children in Honduras has undoubtedly transferred over to her professional life through her role in student housing. The common denominator in both is the interest in the overall well-being for the human race.   Diana heard about HOPE Honduras, her charity of choice, from a very close source; her mother, the founder of the program. Diana was born in Honduras and was taught from a young age the importance of giving back and of helping those less fortunate. Through her passion for helping others, Diana continues to organize and facilitate projects that provide healthcare, clothes, food, shelter and education.

Honduras Village

When asked what her most memorable moment from her trips abroad has been, Diana responded, “One of the most memorable moments so far was when HOPE Honduras provided eyeglasses to people in the village including children and the elderly. Anyone who has ever had to get prescription eyewear knows that seeing clearly changes your world. In that moment, there was an automatic calibration of my perspective on how small gestures change lives forever.”

And change lives forever is exactly what she does…

Happy with glasses!

In the words of Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” By facilitating education, social support and community development through HOPE Honduras, children and their families are given the tools to lead and strive for a better life, not conform to their present situation. Education is a powerful thing, and it has the ability to break the poverty cycle as standards are raised within them not just around them.

In speaking with Diana, one of her main points was that the people who embark on these trips will be met with a life changing experience. She heard time and time again that going on one of these trips began as a search for self-fulfillment for most people. However, in her experience and through the people she has met, it became more than that; it became something that transformed their lives.

When asked how these amazing experiences have followed her back to her life in the states and at For Rent Media Solutions, she said, “I believe that there is an immeasurable passion and a sense of charity in people, and they are the ones that drive the heart of a corporation – like FRMS. Often times individual resources can be limited, but a corporation or a group of passionate people can make a significant difference in this world.”   If you want to learn more about HOPE Honduras, and how YOU can give back, check out the Facebook page!

Thank you, Diana and Friends!
