If you haven’t heard of Red Nose Day, you’re missing out on a fun and collaborative way to raise money to help change the lives of children in need. On Thursday, May 25th, you can get a red nose exclusively at Walgreens and Duane Reade locations nationwide to help end child poverty by donating $1. There is no limit to the amount of red noses you can buy or the amount you can donate.   Spread the nose news around your community! Or, better yet, buy a bunch of red noses to hand out in your lobby or leasing office and around the property. Can you imagine the awesome photo ops that you can get? A bunch of your renters in a pretty place (the pool, the courtyard, the club house) on your property wearing red noses and smiling for the camera? Love it!   Red Nose Day was introduced in the United States in 2015 and run by Comic Relief Inc., a non-profit organization. The organization is dedicated to raising money to help end child poverty in the U.S. and internationally. The proceeds are used to support programs that help keep children safe, healthy and educated. Since 2015, the organizations has raised over $60 million dollars and has impacted more than 2 million children’s lives. A few of the charities that benefit from Red Nose Day include the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Feeding America, Children’s Health Fund, Save the Children, and more. To see all the charities and detailed information on the impact visit rednoseday.org/.     Every Red Nose purchase counts! As a way to give back, your apartment community can set up fundraising efforts to help the cause. It’s quick, easy, and fun! Visit rednoseday.org/fundraise to see how you can download a fundraising kit and even set up a Facebook page that you can share on your community’s Facebook page. To make sure you comply with legal terms while fundraising, the organization has set up guidelines and a “do and don’ts” page to make it easy for you.   You can have fun and be creative with fundraising efforts around your community! Set up a “dress in all red day” or set up a fun group selfie with everyone in the community with their red noses and ask for donations. You can even go the extra mile by matching donations. At the end of the day, you’ll be supporting a great cause and creating a stronger community. c
